- our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving Publora; and
- compliance with legal obligations.
6. How We Share Information
We may share personal data:
- with service providers and subprocessors that help us operate the service;
- with contractors, advisors, and auditors under confidentiality obligations;
- when required by law or legal process;
- to protect the rights, safety, systems, users, or integrity of Publora or others; and
- in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
For LinkedIn-derived data, access is limited to authorized Publora personnel, subprocessors who need the data to operate the service, and authorized users associated with the relevant LinkedIn Page or profile.
Data received from Google APIs, including YouTube API Data, is subject to additional restrictions that take precedence over the rest of this section. Publora’s use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We never sell such data or use it for advertising.
We do not sell personal data. We do not sell LinkedIn-derived data.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the service functioning, maintain session state and preferences, analyze usage and performance, and support security and fraud prevention.
8. LinkedIn Integration Disclosures
If you connect LinkedIn to Publora:
- Publora accesses LinkedIn data only after you authorize our application through LinkedIn’s OAuth flow or another LinkedIn-authorized permission flow.
- Publora requests only the minimum scopes and categories of data needed for the features it provides.
- LinkedIn-derived data is used only to provide approved publishing, management, engagement, and analytics functionality within Publora.
- LinkedIn member data is not included in exports, reports, PDFs, emails, webhooks, downloads, or external transfers, except where required by law or expressly permitted by LinkedIn’s terms.
- If you disconnect LinkedIn, revoke access, or request deletion of applicable LinkedIn-derived personal data, Publora will stop collecting new LinkedIn data and will delete or age out stored LinkedIn-derived data in accordance with applicable law and LinkedIn program rules.
9. YouTube API Services
Publora uses YouTube API Services to connect authorized YouTube channels and publish videos on behalf of users.
Data we access
When you connect a YouTube channel, Publora accesses the information needed to identify and operate the connection, including the channel ID, channel name, channel thumbnail, and the IDs and names of available playlists.
Publora also stores the OAuth tokens and related authorization information required to maintain the connection and publish on your behalf.
When you publish a video through Publora, we also store the video ID that YouTube returns and reflect the result of YouTube’s processing in the post’s publication status, so that you can track the publication. Errors returned by YouTube are recorded in our diagnostic logs so that we can investigate and resolve problems.
We do not access your YouTube Analytics data, viewer data, viewing history, or subscriber list. We access only channels that you have expressly authorized Publora to manage.
How we use the data
Publora uses this data to show you which YouTube channel is connected, to upload videos that you choose to publish or schedule, to show you the status of those publications, and to troubleshoot errors. We apply the title, description, tags, visibility setting, playlist, and other publishing options that you select.
Publora does not use YouTube API Data for advertising, profiling, or purposes unrelated to the YouTube features you request. We do not sell YouTube API Data.
YouTube API Data may be processed by service providers that help us host, secure, and operate Publora. These providers process the data only on our behalf and under appropriate confidentiality and data-protection obligations, as described in the “How We Share Information” section of this Policy, including the additional restrictions that apply to data received from Google APIs.
Storage and retention
Publora stores the channel information and authorization data needed to maintain the connection and publish on your behalf.
OAuth tokens are stored only for as long as necessary to provide the authorized YouTube features. Other YouTube API Data is refreshed or deleted at least once every 30 calendar days, unless YouTube’s policies permit it to be retained for longer.
Video files you upload to Publora are stored so that they can be published and reused, and are retained until you delete the media item or the post it belongs to. Files that are uploaded but never attached to a post are deleted automatically approximately one hour after upload.
Disconnecting YouTube and deleting data
You can disconnect a YouTube channel at any time under Channels in Publora. When you disconnect a channel through Publora, we immediately request revocation of the applicable Google authorization and delete the associated stored YouTube API Data as soon as possible and no later than 7 calendar days. If Google is temporarily unavailable, we retry the revocation request.
Revoking Google authorization may also affect other YouTube channels connected through the same Google authorization. You can also revoke Publora’s access on the Google security settings page. Publora periodically verifies that its authorization remains valid. If we determine that access has been revoked or can no longer be refreshed, we delete the associated YouTube API Data as soon as possible and no later than 30 calendar days after revocation.
You may also request deletion of your stored YouTube API Data by contacting privacy@publora.com. We will process the request as soon as possible and no later than 7 calendar days.
Deleting data from Publora does not delete videos or other data already stored on YouTube. To delete content from YouTube, you must use YouTube or another authorized service that supports deletion.
YouTube and Google terms
Your use of Publora’s YouTube features is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service. Information about how Google processes personal data is available in the Google Privacy Policy.
For questions or complaints about Publora’s use of YouTube API Data, contact privacy@publora.com.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
For LinkedIn-derived data, Publora applies the shortest applicable retention limit required by LinkedIn’s current program rules.
LinkedIn-derived data retention schedule
| Category | Retention rule |
|---|---|
| Authenticated member IDs / URNs used to operate the connected account | Retained only as needed to operate the authorized integration |
| Authenticated member basic profile information | Retained only while needed for the authorized service and subject to applicable law |
| Other members’ basic profile information associated with social actions | Cached for no more than 24 hours and not otherwise stored |
| Members’ social activity data, including comments, reactions, mentions, posts, and related metadata | Stored for no more than 48 hours |
| Organizations’ social activity data | Stored for up to 6 weeks, or up to 6 months where the content relates to an authenticated organization |
| Organization profile data | Stored for up to 8 weeks where the organization has authenticated into Publora; otherwise not stored except organization name and logo URL for up to 30 days |
| Organization admin and reporting data without individual member-level data | Stored for up to 1 year |
| Standardized LinkedIn reference data, where applicable | Stored for up to 1 year |
If a category could fall under more than one rule, Publora applies the shortest applicable retention period.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or request portability of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
You may also disconnect LinkedIn or other integrations through Publora where available and/or revoke Publora’s access through the relevant third-party provider.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Children’s Privacy
Publora is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
